Membership

Perhaps the best things in life are free. Certainly our concert admission is free. However, did you know it cost about $25,000 to produce just a single concert?

Your membership in the Rio Hondo Symphony Association makes a difference - really! Since memberships make up a third of the Association's income, there would be no orchestra without contributions from people like you.

How fortunate that the entire community has access to truly great music for the price of a membership! The musicians work for small honorariums and thousands of volunteer hours help support the concerts and the children's programs.

Wisely, the orchestra's founders provided concerts for free. Over time they engaged the entire community with a passion for classical music. When you become a member, you are paying tribute to the founders and musicians of long ago. Your contribution symbolizes two things: your belief that music is a miraculous work of the human spirit and secondly, your desire to keep music in your life and in your community.

The Glorious 85th Season

Welcome to the Rio Hondo Symphony's glorious 85th Season of FOUR FREE CONCERTS! Performing high quality classical music, close to home, for 85 years is a milestone to be celebrated.

The costs for every season have been challenging, but lovers of beautiful classical music have always provided financial support when needed. It will take hundreds of contributors and thousands of dollars for another great season. Within continuing budget constraints, Conductor Kimo Furumoto has again created another season of unique and varied programming that is guaranteed to be enriching and entertaining.

For as little as a $25 tax-deductible contribution, you will see your name in the programs as one who realizes the importance of the orchestra - a truly cultural gem in the community. Contributors of $150 or more will be invited to the buffet receptions after each concert. we urge our loyal long-time friends to increase their usual gift to the orchestra just a bit; we heartily welcome all new members. With your help, the orchestra's 85th season is sure to be fantastic.
